Just before 1600 hours on Saturday April 25th, Engine 5-1 was dispatched to assist Richland Township with a large brush fire off of Solomon Run Road. With an in-station crew, Engine 5-1 responded almost immediately and was directed to respond to the HRI asphalt plant. Upon arrival, the engine crew was assigned to assist other crews in the woods while the driver assisted with providing a water supply for the helicopter that provided water drops. During the four hours in the woods, the engine crew assisted with cutting a fire line, performing mop up, and cutting trees down.
